After a hiatus of over 25 years, the Haydn Lord Nelson Mass returns to the delight of the Santa Barbara musical community for our 70th Anniversary Season Masterworks concert. Paired with the Vaughan Williams Benedicite, and the music of Ola Gjeilo and Christopher Tin, it's sure to be a concert lovers of choral music will not want to miss! TICKET PRICING: Honoring Conductor JoAnne Wasserman's 25th Season, adult open seating is $25. Honoring SBCS's 70th Season, VIP/Patron Reserved section seating $70 (includes pre- or post-concert reception). Kids 7 to 17 just $7 with adult.

Conductor JoAnne Wasserman celebrates her 25th Season at the baton with a work not performed in Santa Barbara in her tenure: Joseph Haydn's Missa in Angustiis -- more popularly known variously as the 'Mass for Troubled Times' and the 'Lord Nelson Mass'. Ms. Wasserman will lead the SBCS chorus and orchestra and a quartet of fine soloists -- Rena Harms/Soprano, Nina Yoshida Nelsen/Mezzo, Benjamin Brecher/Tenor, and Ralph Cato/Bass -- in two performances of this landmark masterwork, Saturday April 7 and Sunday April 8 at First Presbyterian Church.

In addition, the repertoire will include the Ralph Vaughan Williams Benedicite and works by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo and Christopher Tin of video soundtrack fameAnd, in a tribute to our 70th Season, the concert will pay honor to all SBCS chorus alumni who have lent their time, energy, and voices to enrich Santa Barbara's cultural community throughout SBCS's 70 seasons. Those alumni who attend the performance will be invited to join the chorus in a finale, singing 'Let All the World in Every Corner Sing' from Vaughan Williams' 5 Mystical Songs.
